Nickel Plating

This is the most widely used process in the plating industry and often spearheads most plating operations. Our processes are specially developed for RACK and BARREL plating systems.

OUR PROCESSES
  • General purpose nickel: Regular nickel salts for steel, copper, copper alloys etc, usually where low rates of deposition are required.
  • Bight nickel: Mirror bright finish, even and leveled deposit, usually used as an undercoat to brass, chrome and precious metals.
  • Satin nickel: Largely decorative in nature, delivers a smooth, non-glaring, stain free pearlescent finish.
  • Multilayer nickel: For duplex and triplex systems, greatly enhanced corrosion resistance.
  • Multilayer high corrosion bright nickel: Very bright to semi bright finishes for mono-porous chrome plated systems and chrome plated parts.

ELECTROLESS NICKEL

This is an auto-catalytic chemical reaction caused due to a nickel phosphorous solution such that a nickel coating is deposited on the surface without performing electrolysis. Treated surfaces are sure to show excellent wear, chemical and corrosion resistance.

NICKEL-FREE PROCESSES

White Tin-Cobalt Alloy – An excellent replacement to decorative chromium plating, displays tarnish resistance, wear resistance and hardness. For BARREL and RACK plating.

Black Tin-Cobalt Alloy – Uniform black deposit, excellent throwing power, deposit reveals superior tarnish resistance, wear resistance and hardness.

Non-cyanide yellow bronze – Renders a gold/rose gold finish, perfect for imitation jewelry, is an eco friendly cyanide free process, excellent replacement for precious metal plating systems.

Non-cyanide white bronze – Renders a uniform silver-like bright deposit, for barrel and rack plating, is an eco friendly cyanide free process, excellent replacement for precious metal plating systems.

TRIVALENT CHROME

OUR PROCESSES

White Trivalent Chrome: For iron and brass applications and plastic parts for automobiles to meet high corrosion resistance requirements. Key features of this process includes –

  1. Hexavalent chromium free, therefore environment friendly
  2. Uniform bright white experience with excellent throwing power
  3. Strong salt corrosion resistance

Decorative Black Trivalent Chrome: This is also an environment friendly process because it doesn’t contain hexavalent chromium. A uniform gloss black appearance can be attained with excellent throwing power. It has widespread applications spanning all kinds of resins (Plastic) to metals and decorative goods.

TIN PLATING

Bright Acid Tin – Produces a fully bright, silvery white ductile deposit in both RACK and BARREL plating systems. Excellent substitute for Tin/Lead etch resists in Printed Circuit Boards manufacturing

Matte Acid Tin – A room temperature, high-speed process that deposits a lustrous white matte finish, it is tarnish resistant, fingerprint resistant and offers a superior cosmetic appeal.
Industry Application Examples – PCBs, Terminals and Tags, Electrical contacts, semiconductor devices, Transistor lugs etc.

Tin Immersion System – Room temperature non-electrolytic immersion/dipping system for brass, copper and copper alloy base metals.

Tin Protection System – Forms a dense transparent oxide layer, which protects the underlying tin-plating system from discoloring during high temperature manufacturing processes.

ZINC PLATING

MILD ACIDIC ZINC ELECTROLYTE FOR BARREL- AND RACK PLATING

This acid zinc process can be used without boric acid or ammonium chloride. The new buffer system allows a higher brightness, throwing power and pushes the burning mark to higher current density areas. The brightener produces a uniform and homogeneous brilliant brightness over the complete current density spectrum.

ALKALINE ZINC ELECTROLYTE FOR BARREL- AND RACK APPLICATION

A very easy to use alkaline zinc process which generates highly bright and ductile Zinc layers. All additives can be easily adjusted in hull cell experiments and do not influence each other. The excellent metal distribution makes this electrolyte an optimal system for rack plating as well as barrel application for highly complex geometric parts.

ALKALINE ZINC-NICKEL ELECTROLYTE FOR BARREL PLATING

This is an easy to use process. The setup is done by using three additives, whereas during plating only the nickel solution and brightener must be added. All additives do not influence each other so failure analytics is quite simple.

ALKALINE ZINC-NICKEL ELECTROLYTE FOR BARREL APPLICATION

This Zinc-Nickel process is very simple to use and at the same time generates brilliant bright surfaces. During plating, only the nickel solution and brightener must be added. The clear separation of additives makes the failure analytics quite simple and can be done by hull cell panel experiments.

TRIVALENT PASSIVATION

ZPN BLUE – ALL PURPOSE PASSIVATION
  • Zinc: blue
  • Zinc-Nickel barrel: transparent
  • Zinc-Nickel barrel: rainbow, iridescent
  • Zinc-Nickel barrel: black
  • Zinc-Nickel rack: transparent
  • Zinc-Nickel rack: rainbow, iridescent
  • Zinc-Nickel rack: black
  • Zinc dye cast: direct passivation

The advantage is that the single concentrate can apply different finishes to the surfaces. In case of Zinc-Nickel, the passivation is usable for rack and barrel plating and can create different looks depending on the chosen setup.

ZPN BLUE 2 – COLORED PASSIVATION

Die coloring process takes place in the same process steps as the passivation. The color is therefore directly added into the passivation tank. Advantages of a single-step processes are:

  • Only one tank for treatment needed
  • No extra process step
  • Coloring effect is much more uniform

ZPN BLUE 11 – COBALT FREE PASSIVATION

Avoids the use of cobalt and results in the same corrosion protection as the cobalt containing system. This process can be applied to the same range of surfaces as ZPN Blue but offers additional advantages –

  • Lower costs: concentrates are cheaper, setup concentrations are partly lower
  • No cobalt in waste water
  • No usage of carcinogenic compounds
ZPN 28 – THICK LAYER PASSIVATION

A cobalt free thick layer passivation exhibiting the same corrosion protection as cobalt containing systems. It generates iridescent, light blue and heat treatment stable surfaces.

ZPN BLACK – BLACK PASSIVATION FOR ACID ZINC

Cobalt-free black passivation for acid zinc plated surfaces. The yielded surfaces can be adjusted from iridescent bright black to matt black. The use of topcoats or sealers will further improve the appearance and corrosion protection.

ZINC-NICKEL YELLOW:

Generates homogenous yellow surfaces on Zinc-Nickel coated objects and can be used on alk. Zinc-Nickel barrel and alk. Zinc-Nickel rack. Your advantages:

  • Setup with only one component
  • No colors are used
  • Cobalt free

Sealants

CHEMICAL SEALING:
  • Based on Chrom(III), can also be applied before using another TopCoat to improve corrosion protection
  • Cobalt-free alternative
TOPCOATS:
  • Matt black TopCoat
  • Clear TopCoat
  • Shiny black TopCoat
  • Black TopCoat
NANO-SEALERS
  • Black sealer with high corrosion protection, applicable for centrifuge application
  • Clear sealer with high corrosion protection, applicable for centrifuge and rack application

SPECIALTY ALLOY PROCESSES

TIN-NICKEL:

Inter-metallic deposits with high tarnish and chemical resistance. The electrolyte has a superior throwing power and a high deposition rate. The solution is suitable for plating bright deposits direct on copper, copper alloys, nickel and silver.

TIN NICKEL COBALT/ ANTHRACITE NICKEL:
